72 Shemot (“the App”) is published by Andy Alcantara (“we,” “us”). We do not operate a server, we do not have user accounts, and we do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. Everything the App stores, it stores on your own device.
The short version
The App calculates sunrise on your device, keeps your preferences on your device, and shows reminders scheduled by your device. Nothing is sent to us, because there is nowhere to send it. Deleting the App deletes everything it saved.
1. Information we collect
We collect nothing. We receive no personal information from the App — no name, email address, account, device identifier, advertising ID, IP address log, usage analytics, or crash report. The App contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking software of any kind.
2. Information stored on your device
The App saves the following locally, in your device's app storage, so it can work between sessions. This data is not transmitted anywhere:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Approximate coordinates (latitude / longitude) | To calculate your local sunrise, which determines which Name is active. Stored only as the most recent reading, so the App still works offline or before a new location fix is available. |
| Your selected Names (favorites) | To show your selections and schedule their reminders. |
| A manually entered sunrise time, if you set one | To let you use the App without granting location access at all. |
| Language preference and whether onboarding was completed | To display the App in your language and skip the intro. |
3. Location
If you grant permission, the App reads your device's location while you are using it (foreground only — it never tracks you in the background). The coordinates are used on your device to compute the local sunrise and dawn times with an astronomical calculation that runs entirely offline. Your location is never sent to us or to any third party.
Location is optional. If you deny permission, the App remains fully usable: you can enter a sunrise time manually in Settings. You can revoke location access at any time in your device's system settings.
4. Notifications
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device for the Names you selected. There is no push server and no push token: we cannot send you a message, and we do not know whether you enabled notifications, received one, or opened one. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device's system settings.
5. Links to nonprofits
The Give screen lists nonprofit organizations and links out to each one's own page on Every.org, an independent 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 61-1913297). Tapping a foundation opens that page in your web browser, outside the App.
The App takes no payments and processes no donations. If you choose to give, that transaction happens on Every.org's website under Every.org's own privacy policy and terms, and any information you provide there is collected by Every.org and the nonprofit you selected — not by us. 100% of your donation goes to the nonprofit you choose. We never collect, hold, receive, or learn about any portion of it.
If the App's optional nonprofit search is enabled in a future version, the words you type into that search box are sent to Every.org's public directory API in order to return results. No information about you is attached to that request.
6. Third parties
We share nothing, because we hold nothing. The only third parties involved in your use of the App are:
- Apple and Google — they distribute the App and may collect their own data about downloads under their own privacy policies. We receive only anonymous, aggregate download and crash statistics from these stores, which do not identify you.
- Every.org — only if you tap through to a nonprofit's page, as described above.
7. Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the App collects no personal information at all. There is therefore nothing for a parent or guardian to request, correct, or delete beyond uninstalling the App, which removes everything it saved on the device.
8. Your rights and choices
Privacy laws such as the GDPR (Europe), the UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is no data for us to disclose, correct, transfer, or delete, and we have never sold or shared personal information. You remain in full control of the data on your device:
- Delete everything — uninstall the App. All locally stored data is removed with it.
- Withdraw permissions — revoke location or notification access at any time in your device's system settings.
9. Security
Data stored by the App is protected by your device's own operating system protections, including its app sandbox and, where you have enabled it, device encryption and a passcode. Since nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side store of your information to breach.
10. Changes to this policy
If the App's data practices change, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in the App's App Store and Google Play listings. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
